raccoon
I saw raccoon's family in our backyard recently.
Probably, a mom and three babies. They showed up at daytime, so it was quite rare cases around residential areas. I believe that I had an eye-contact with them.
Also, a skunk passed through our garden another day.
What a wild life in Vancouver!
I can't experience those things in my neighborhood in Japan.

Drinking Coffee with a Straw
Recently, I have noticed an influx in the number of people who drink coffee with a straw. I found out that the purpose of this action is to avoid staining the teeth. That's exactly why I drink red wine, whiskey, cooking wine, and mouth wash with a straw...so I don't stain these pearly whites. Also, I have begun eating ribs with rubber gloves, petting dogs with a stick, and shaking people's hand with a baseball bat - to avoid stains.

Lauren's weekend
Now that summer's here, there's a lot going on in Vancouver. I don't know what these things are exactly, but check online, check the metro and the 24 and you'll find plenty of options. Don't forget that Canada Day is on Wednesday, so maybe there are some pre-Canada Day activities going on. Enjoy!

Swine Flu
Just coming back from Japan.
Surprisingly, the big differences of swine flu things between Japan and Canada.
Kind of culture shocks for me.
Hopefully, everything will be calm down soon.

Lauren says, save it for the beach
It still amazes me that although the weather is cool, because it's "spring" people wear flip-flops and tank tops. You should probably check the weather BEFORE you go out and not depend on what season it is. There will be plenty of time for tube tops and *groan* sleeveless man-shirts. Spring is not that time. Save it for the beach.
